Former cabbie has a new home
David was evicted when he lost his job and his landlady would not accept housing benefit.
Originally a cab driver, he was diagnosed with asthma and high blood pressure. On top of this, pain in his shoulder meant he could not find work.
At 54 years old, he said he never expected to spend five months sleeping in a duvet behind a supermarket.
He has now permanently moved into sheltered accommodation, and hopes to go back to part-time work.
Your donation went towards his resettlement, helping him to buy a sofa and bed for his unfurnished flat.
His health is improving greatly and he says that the funding “made my move a lot easier and helped provide items I needed for everyday living.”
